ABOUT

Deepak Tolange is a Kathmandu-based filmmaker/photographer. He studied an MA in Visual and Media Anthropology at Freie Universität Berlin (2014-2016) with DAAD scholarship. After his studies, Deepak worked as a freelancer in Germany and Tanzania for two years (2016-2018). He worked as a visual documentation facilitator in KVPT Nepal (2019-2021). Earlier Deepak worked as a photojournalist in The Himalayan Times/Annapurna Post (2010-2011). Since 2010, Deepak has been teaching in Kathmandu University. Currently, he teaches film production, and Photojournalism.

His ethnographic films CHHAARO [DUST] and SHELTER [TAHARA] received multiple major international awards.
